Terrible start ... Bye bye !!!
Terrible start ... Bye bye !!!
Bro, look... hitting 5 consecutive SLs sounds bad, but it’s actually just 3 entries since each trade is split into two positions for TP1 and TP2. With a win rate of about 62% (or 55% if you disable BE for TP2), running into a losing streak is perfectly normal. How can you judge an entire strategy based on just 3 trades?
Furthermore, if you double-check the backtest, it also shows those same 5 losses, doesn't it? And yet, the monthly backtest still remains profitable. You need to be patient because Gold has been ranging with constant spikes for a month now. As I stated in the description, this is a Range Breakout EA—how can a bot designed specifically for breakouts perform well in a sideways market? Sideways markets are for Mean Reversion EAs, bro.
I am also sending a comparison image between the backtest and real trades on a small account (0.02 lot) and a large account (0.1 lot). You should compare the timestamps; the results between the backtest and real trades are very similar (with slight differences due to slippage). This proves that the EA has a high level of consistency between backtesting and live trading. Since you already know the backtest shows stable profits on a monthly basis or longer, losing a few trades is perfectly normal. Just be patient and wait for the market volatility to return, bro.
