XAUUSD: gold prices remain under pressure
Current trend
Gold prices fell on Tuesday, responding to rising investor demand on stock exchanges. However, a more confident decline in the instrument was hindered by continuing concerns about the possibility of concluding a trade agreement between the United States and China. Despite significant success in the new round of negotiations, the Chinese side is hesitant to sign the agreement, insisting on the cancellation of the planned increase in import duties in December. Donald Trump is unlikely to do this, because the US sees the December tariff increase as an additional guarantee of compliance with all conditions by Beijing.
Another important issue for gold is the situation around Brexit. The UK-EU summit will be held at the end of this week and it is expected that the agreement, if any, will be signed by this time. Otherwise, the parties may again return to the disscussion on the postponement of the process
Trading tips
To open long positions, one can rely on the breakout of 1490.81. Take profit — 1516.70 or 1523.95. Stop loss should be placed no further than 1473.73.
A breakdown of 1473.73 may be a signal for new sales with target at 1452.66 or 1440.00. Stop loss — 1485.00.
Implementation time: 2-3 days.

On the 4-hour chart, the pair is trading in the lower Bollinger band. The price remains below its moving averages that start turning down. The RSI is growing, having left the oversold zone. The Composite is testing its most recent resistance.
Trading tips
The price keeps consolidating above its long-term ascending trendline. There is a chance of an upward rebound.
Long positions can be opened from the level of 1.3240 with targets at 1.3290, 1.3345 and stop-loss at 1.3200. Validity – 3-5 days.
Short positions can be opened from the level of 1.3085 with the target at 1.3015 and stop-loss at 1.3130. Validity – 3-5 days.

Current trend
On Friday, the EUR/USD pair actively grew, renewing the highs of September 20. Nevertheless, the instrument failed to consolidate at the new highs, and by the end of the daily session, USD significantly restored. EUR is supported by optimistic signals about Brexit and the process of a new round of US-China negotiations. Last week, Boris Johnson met with his Irish counterpart Leo Varadkar, following which the parties were able to find common ground that could be enough to work out a final agreement. The EU praised Johnson’s actions, noting that little time is left to conclude a new deal.
During today's Asian session, the pair is trading mixed. Investors react to Chinese statistics on exports and imports, and also expect new drivers to appear on the market. On Monday, August data on EU industrial production will be released, as well as a speech by ECB Vice President Luis de Guindos.
Trading tips

Current trend
On Thursday, the instrument declined after the release of weak macroeconomic data from the United States, as well as due to the publication of Fed minutes, which signal in favor of continuing the cycle of interest rate cuts. The US Consumer Price Index in September showed a slowdown from 0.1% MoM to 0.0% MoM, which turned out to be worse than the forecast of 0.1% MoM. In annual terms, inflation remained at the previous level of 1.7% YoY with a forecast of 1.8% YoY. Core Consumer Price Index in September slowed down from 0.3% YoY to 0.1% YoY, while the market forecast a slowdown to 0.2% YoY.
Today the pair continues to decline. The market is waiting for the publication of data on Unemployment Rate and Employment Change in Canada (14:30 GMT+2). The market is expected to be highly volatile.

Short positions may be opened from the level of 1.3265 with target at 1.3205. Stop loss — 1.3300.

Let's look at the four-hour chart. Tenkan-sen line is above Kijun-sen, the lines are horizontal . Confirmative line Chikou Span is crossing the price chart from below, current cloud is descending. The instrument is trading below Tenkan-sen and Kijun-sen lines; the Bearish trend is still strong. One of the previous minimums of Chikou Span line is expected to be a support level (117.16). The closest resistance level is Kijun-sen line (117.51).
On the both charts the instrument is still falling. It is recommended to open short positions at current price with Take Profit at the level of previous minimum of Chikou Span line (117.16) and Stop Loss at the level of Kijun-sen line (117.51).

In the second half of July, Pfizer shares have been rising slightly and are currently trading at a discount to the 7-month high of July 3. Next week, July 30, before the market opens, a report for the past quarter will be published. Revenue is expected to be at last year’s level and a decline in earnings per share by 4.9% YoY to 0.77 US dollars is predicted.
Over the last week, Pfizer shares rose by 0.56%. The S&P 500 index increased by 0.10% over the same period.
Short positions can be opened after the price consolidates below the level of 42.00. The closing of the profitable positions is possible at the levels of 41.00, 40.00 and 39.50. Stop loss is 43.00.
Long positions can be opened after the price fixes above the level of 43.50 with the targets at 45.00–46.00. Stop loss is 42.50.
