ABOUT SENTINEL GOLD EA

Sentinel Gold EA is a fully automated Expert Advisor developed for XAUUSD / GOLD trading on MetaTrader 5.

The system uses a proprietary architecture composed of multiple analysis and execution mechanisms working together with an independent risk-management and operational-protection framework.

The objective of Sentinel is not simply to increase the number of trades.

The system was developed to pursue a combination of:

The strategic architecture remains internally protected. The user does not need to configure dozens of indicators, schedules, filters, technical levels or complex parameters.

The configuration has been simplified so that the trader mainly controls the risk level and basic trading permissions, while the internal engine manages the strategy.

Sentinel Gold EA uses a Multi-Engine architecture.

Different internal components can analyze the market and search for opportunities under different conditions.

Each mechanism has a specific function, while all of them work together with Sentinel's management and protection system.

For intellectual-property protection, details such as entry rules, structural calculations, schedules, filters, distances and proprietary parameters remain internal.

This also helps prevent incorrect changes from compromising the original behavior of the system.

Although the EA is installed on an M15 chart, the internal architecture uses information from different market timeframes.

Therefore, its analysis does not depend exclusively on M15.

THREE RISK PROFILES

Sentinel offers three main management profiles.

CONSERVATIVE

A profile designed for lower exposure.

It mainly uses a fixed-lot approach in the core system.

It can be used by traders who prefer greater predictability in the initial position size.

MODERATE

Uses a controlled lot progression related to account balance.

The objective is to create a gradual transition in exposure as the account grows.

AGGRESSIVE

Uses percentage-based risk management for certain trades.

Position size may be calculated based on the configured risk and the structural Stop Loss distance.

A maximum lot limit is also applied.

The profile used in the historical reference test shown below was Aggressive, using the default parameters.

SIMPLIFIED PARAMETERS

To keep the strategy protected and make the EA easier to use, only the main controls are available to the user.

Fixed Lot

Defines the lot size used in situations where the system operates with a fixed lot.

Aggressive Risk (%)

Defines the percentage used by the Aggressive profile's percentage-based risk management.

Maximum Lot

Defines a maximum lot limit for this management mode.

Maximum Simultaneous Risk (%)

Controls the simultaneous exposure limit used by the core system.

Allow Buy

Enables or disables BUY trades.

Allow Sell

Enables or disables SELL trades.

The proprietary strategic parameters remain internal.

DYNAMIC RISK MANAGEMENT

Sentinel was not developed only to find entry points.

An important part of its architecture is dedicated to controlling account exposure.

Depending on the selected profile, the system may use information such as:

• Account balance
• Configured risk
• Stop Loss distance
• Simultaneous exposure
• Current protection status
• Internal management conditions

These mechanisms do not eliminate the risk of losses.

The objective is to create a more organized and controlled management structure.

Sentinel includes several layers of operational protection.

EXECUTION SAFETY

The system monitors certain conditions related to order execution.

Under conditions considered unsuitable, new trades may be temporarily limited or blocked.

ROLLOVER GUARD

During rollover periods, spreads may increase and liquidity may decrease significantly.

Sentinel includes an internal protection window designed to reduce exposure during these conditions.

WEEKEND GUARD

The weekly market opening may present:

• Gaps
• Higher spreads
• Reduced liquidity
• Abnormal execution conditions

Weekend Guard monitors the transition between the weekly close and the new market opening.

LOSS COOLDOWN

After certain unfavorable sequences, Sentinel may apply internal reduction or temporary pause mechanisms.

The objective is to avoid excessively aggressive exposure immediately after certain loss events.

DRAWDOWN PROTECTION

The system monitors account development and includes internal levels related to drawdown.

Depending on the situation, these mechanisms may temporarily influence risk management.

PROTECTED POST-STOP MANAGEMENT

The architecture also includes a mechanism capable of evaluating certain situations after a trade has been closed by Stop Loss.

This feature has internal exposure and depth limits.

Sentinel does not use traditional Martingale or an infinite Grid as the foundation of the strategy.

Its logic remains protected inside the EA.

The full version includes a professional dashboard integrated into the chart.

The dashboard displays important information in a quick and organized way, including:

During this period, the average winning trade was significantly larger than the average losing trade.

Average Winning Trade: approximately US$219.82

This corresponds to an average ratio of approximately 3.7 times between the average winning trade and the average losing trade in this specific test.

WHY IS WIN RATE NOT THE ONLY IMPORTANT FACTOR?

A strategy does not necessarily need to win 80% or 90% of its trades to produce a positive result.

In the historical test shown above, Sentinel had approximately 37% winning trades.

However, the average winning trade was considerably larger than the average losing trade.

For this reason, when evaluating a system, it is also important to consider factors such as:

• Profit Factor
• Reward-to-loss relationship
• Drawdown
• Recovery Factor
• Equity-curve consistency
• Risk management

The percentage of winning trades alone does not represent the overall quality of a strategy.

The results shown above correspond to one specific historical test.

They do not represent a promise of future profitability.

Backtests cannot perfectly reproduce all conditions found in a live trading account.

XAUUSD is an asset that is particularly sensitive to execution quality.

For this reason, it is recommended to use a broker with good trading conditions for Gold.

• Adequate liquidity
• Correct symbol specifications

The same EA may produce different results across different brokers.

For continuous operation, a VPS located close to the broker's server is recommended.

For first-time use:
