HAYATE ADAPTIVE SCALPER
Recommended environment: USDJPY M5. Completed-bar countertrend logic, adaptive quality ranking and single-position control.
OVERVIEW
Hayate Adaptive Scalper is a fixed-rule Expert Advisor designed primarily for USDJPY on M5. It looks for an unusually extended completed five-minute bar, checks market activity and volatility conditions, and attempts one countertrend entry at the beginning of the next M5 bar.
In version 1.002, USDJPY M5 retains the original research-oriented GRID_V4 route and remains the recommended environment. Other symbols and timeframes use a separate generic compatibility mode. No claim is made that the generic modes have the same research evidence as USDJPY M5.

USDJPY M5 GRID_V4 LOGIC
All signal calculations use completed M5 bars. An upper price extreme creates a SELL candidate, while a lower price extreme creates a BUY candidate.
A candidate must pass at least one fixed extreme-move rule. The rules measure standardized price displacement, recent directional candle bodies and a combined displacement/body condition. The candidate must also pass the minimum Bollinger Band width condition and establish a new 24-bar high or low in the direction of the completed-bar move.
Hayate then awards one rank point for each fixed condition met: wider Bollinger Bands, higher ATR, larger distance from SMA20 and higher recent tick-volume activity relative to the preceding period. The selected profile changes the minimum required rank, not the underlying signal formula.
After a signal qualifies, Hayate attempts a market order on the first acceptable tick of the next contiguous M5 bar. The default first-tick delay limit is five seconds. Entry is skipped when the first tick is late, spread exceeds the configured ceiling, the quote is invalid, broker stop geometry is incompatible, free margin is insufficient or chart-symbol exposure already exists. The requested market price is not a guaranteed fill price.
GENERIC COMPATIBILITY MODE
On another symbol or timeframe, version 1.002 uses a public generic compatibility mode instead of the GRID_V4 route. It evaluates completed bars, uses SMA20 countertrend entries, applies an ATR-based initial stop and trailing stop, exits after six bars, and limits entry spread relative to ATR. This permits normal multi-symbol and multi-timeframe operation, but the mode is not presented as having the same research evidence as the recommended USDJPY M5 route.
PROFILES
Active — minimum rank 1; compiled default for USDJPY M5.
Standard — minimum rank 2; recommended for the first USDJPY M5 evaluation.
Selective — minimum rank 3.
Custom — user-selected minimum rank from 1 to 4.
A stricter rank is only a stricter qualification rule. It is not a promise of higher profit or a specific trade frequency.
POSITION AND EXIT MANAGEMENT
Hayate opens one position and does not add recovery positions.
On USDJPY M5, the initial stop is 10 pips multiplied by the recent tick-volume activity ratio, limited to 6–18 pips, and is submitted with the entry order. There is no fixed take-profit. After at least 2 pips of favorable movement, the EA requests a 2-pip trailing distance and moves the stop only in the protective direction. A remaining position is closed after 24 M5 bars, approximately 120 continuous minutes.
In generic compatibility mode, position management uses the ATR-based stop and trailing logic and the six-bar exit described above.
Trailing and time-exit management require MetaTrader 5, the EA and the trading connection to remain operational.
POSITION SIZING
The supplied default is fixed 0.10 lot. Optional equity-risk sizing uses account equity, the configured risk percentage, the signal stop distance and an additional 5-pip sizing cushion. Broker volume limits, volume steps, aggregate symbol limits and available margin can reduce the requested volume.
These software defaults are not universal recommendations. Evaluate lot size for the intended account and acceptable loss.
RECOMMENDED INITIAL CONFIGURATION
Platform: MetaTrader 5
Symbol: USDJPY; broker suffixes are accepted
Chart: M5
Profile: Standard for first evaluation
Lot mode: Fixed
Default maximum entry spread: 1.0 pip
Default maximum first-tick delay: 5 seconds
Concurrent exposure: do not mix manual or other-EA USDJPY positions
External dependencies: none
Version 1.002 does not disable itself merely because the chart uses another symbol or timeframe; it uses generic compatibility mode. Broker stop/freeze geometry and other trading constraints can still prevent an entry or stop modification. Test symbol naming, tick size, spread, volume step, stop geometry, margin and execution on the intended broker.
EVIDENCE STATUS
No numerical performance result is claimed for the compiled product at launch. Earlier offline research used candle-path, ATR, volume and spread assumptions that do not establish the exact performance of this EX5, so profit factor, net pips, win rate and drawdown are intentionally not presented as product results.
Run the exact product in the MT5 Strategy Tester with real ticks and then in demo conditions at the intended broker before considering live use.
RISK NOTICE
Foreign-exchange trading can result in substantial loss. A one-position design does not make a strategy low risk. The requested stop is not a guaranteed maximum loss. Gaps, slippage, reduced liquidity, rejected requests, terminal downtime and broker rules can change the fill, stop movement or exit timing.
Historical research never predicts future profit, drawdown or trade frequency. Use only risk capital whose loss can be accepted.
