Heikin Ashi Strategy Overview
The Heikin Ashi module within the ZAAD system is designed to provide a smoother way to interpret market dynamics, allowing you to classify price pressure, pullbacks, and exhaustion more effectively than using raw candlestick charts . This module offers three distinct operating styles—HA_TREND, HA_EARLY, and HA_REVERSAL—each of which interprets the Heikin Ashi candles differently to suit specific trading objectives .
The Three Operating Modes
HA_TREND (Conservative Continuation)
This mode is designed for conservative trend following . It focuses on capturing an established trend after a controlled pullback . The logic first determines the higher-timeframe trend using moving averages and allows a limited pullback against that trend . It then requires one or more fresh Heikin Ashi candles that align with the main trend, ensuring these candles have sufficient body size and acceptable wick length .
HA_EARLY (Faster Continuation)
This mode is more aggressive than HA_TREND . Its primary goal is to enter the market earlier, specifically at the first strong re-acceleration signal after a pullback begins to end, rather than waiting for a fully mature continuation sequence . While this approach allows the trader to catch more of the move, it is more sensitive to false restarts because it enters before the trend is fully re-established
HA_REVERSAL (Exhaustion / Turn Logic)
This mode does not focus on continuation but rather seeks to detect when a long, one-sided price run is becoming exhausted . It requires a meaningful prior run defined by a minimum number of candles . The system monitors the late candles of the run for diminishing quality, such as smaller bodies and signs of indecision . It only considers a trade when a clear opposite-color candle or an opposite-structure shift occurs, indicating a potential reversal rather than a simple pullback .
