Hi Crispin

I'm Interested in your indicator. But i need that the alert pop up and the arrow appears during the candle is currently open

to warm me that the next candle it will be positive or negative candle if the two Ma crossover happens.

Can you tell me when the the pop alert window or the arrow appears in the chart just at the begining of the new candle?

Or do you have an optiion in the indicator configuration that the indicator alert me during the candle the candle is currently open

Hi Rafael, 

Apologies for the delay replying to you. Christmas got in the way :)

If you change the 'Alert When Crossover is Printed' parameter to 'false' the system will provide an alert when the two MAs touch or temporarily cross over... these types of crossover will indeed be created during candle formation - so this addresses your requirement I believe. 

If 'Alert When Crossover is Printed' is set to 'true' the system will only produce crossovers when the MAs have physically crossed on the complete candle formation - ie the last candle/bar. These types of entries get you into a move later as I'm sure you know.

Thanks for your message and Happy New Year. The crossover arrows print for physical crossovers (ie crossover which have actually happened/been printed) and yes, the arrows will repaint when a new candle/bar starts to form on the chart.

Hallo Crispin,  I wonder if you could provide me with a bit more information on this indicator please? 

1) If attached to a currency pair, will the alert be activated when a cross or near cross takes place on the selected visualization timeframe (s) only? For example, if I set the visualization to the 4 hour and daily time frames only. Will the alert only sound when a cross takes place on these two time frames and not all the others?

2)  Would it be possible to have the option of a push notification alert?

Greetings Crispin, even though you never responded to my previous enquiry, I went ahead and purchased your indicator and now I have a problem!

 The email alert on this indicator does not work!  I keep getting the following in the journal tab of my Meta Trader 4 platform:

 " Mail: not enough space for 'MA Crossover Alert "

 Could it be that the indicator continues to send historical alerts and this is too much for gmail to handle? There is clearly a problem with the email alert functionality of this indicator and it would be nice to get a response from you.

Apologies for not responding far sooner - for some reason I didn't receive a notification of your message on the 19th. I check MQL5.com every day so I don't know what happened there :(

 The issue you're experiencing is due to the MT4 mail client being overloaded by send email requests. I would suggest changing the external input parameters so that the frequency of email alerts is reduced. This will hopefully prevent the broker's email server from being clogged up by too many requests.

 The external input parameters you need to focus on are:-

Minimum Interval Between Alerts in Seconds 

Max number of Alerts 

Reset Alert Counter after x minutes

Reset Alert Counter on New Candle 

The default settings reset the alert counter every sixty seconds and allow 5 alerts per minute separated by a 10 second delay. If you use these settings and use Email Alerts too you will get a tonne of alerts when crossover conditions are met which will most likely overload your brokers email server... which will then reject further requests...

So my advice is to have a think about what timeframe you are trading on and set the parameters so  that the alert interval is something a little less aggressive... So if you trade off H1 charts I would definitely increase the Alert Interval to something like 120 seconds, set the max number of alerts to say 3, set the Reset Alert counter after x minutes to say 15 (this will reset the alert counter 4 times per hour)... and also set the Reset Alert Counter on new bar to 'true'... Even with these settings you may get quite a few alerts depending on price action so further tuning may be required. 

Also it's worth being aware that some brokers have a fairly unreliable email server. I've certainly seen certain brokers where the email service can be a little hit and miss... so I would run some tests using a simple script if you can write basic scripts... if you need one to test the email facility let me know and I'll send you one.

So in summary, I would choke down the frequency of the email alert generation to try and lighten the load on the email server.

 Let me know if you continue to have any problems and I'll help as much as possible.

Hi, re: the above questions... 

1) The system will only alert when crossovers take place on the chart timeframe the indicator is running on. The visualization parameters are simply controlling which timeframes the indicator actually runs/display on... so if you tick H4 and D1 visualization boxes the indicator will display on those charts only.. but you will need to have that chart timeframe running ie active to receive alerts.

 2) Yes... I can add in a Push notification if you like. Have a play around with the parameter settings to make sure you're happy with the alert frequency regarding Emails etc.. and let me know if you would like any modifications done there.. I'll do the whole lot in one go.

Hallo again Crispin, I have played around with the email alert parameters and it now seems to be working fine. Thank you for your advice regarding the parameters.

As previously mentioned, I would love to have the push notification option.

 One other thing: I note that the historic alert arrows stay on the chart and I was wondering if there is a way I could delete them myself. I like that they remain on the chart and can be referenced at any time, but I wonder if I can delete them as time moves on and I no longer need them?

 I've made the changes - basically I've added two new parameters - 'Push_Notifications' and also 'Show_Crossover_Arrow' - the new release is Version 2.1 and has been submitted for moderator approval... so watch this space.. I should get a notification once it's approved so I'll let you know.
