Aurex Gold Session Breakout

Aurex Gold Session Breakout is an automated XAUUSD Expert Advisor built around one of the most recognisable intraday Gold trading structures: the Asian-session range followed by the London / European-session breakout.
The EA records a configurable session range, identifies the session high and low, and then evaluates potential breakouts using a weighted confluence system before allowing a trade.
Rather than relying on one indicator, the EA can combine trend direction, EMA alignment, ADX strength, range quality, volatility, breakout candle strength, closing position and tick volume.
The strategy is designed primarily for XAUUSD, but the key parameters remain fully configurable for testing and optimisation.
MAIN STRATEGY
The default structure is:
Asian Session Range
00:00 – 07:00
London / European Entry Window
07:00 – 17:00
These times use broker server time and can be changed in the EA settings.
The EA first records the Asian-session high and low. Once the session has completed, it monitors price for a confirmed breakout above or below the established range.
THREE ENTRY MODES
-
Market Breakout
The EA waits for a completed candle to break beyond the session range and breakout buffer.
The trade is entered at market if the required confluence score is reached.
-
Pending OCO
The EA can place Buy Stop and Sell Stop orders around the completed session range.
When one side is activated, the remaining opposite pending order can automatically be cancelled.
-
Breakout + Retest
The EA first waits for a confirmed breakout.
Instead of entering immediately, it then waits for price to return toward the broken session boundary.
A trade is entered only if the breakout level holds and price produces continuation confirmation.
CONFLUENCE SCORING
Each potential setup can earn points from several independent factors.
These include:
• Confirmed session breakout
• Price above or below the 200 EMA
• 20 / 50 EMA alignment
• Higher-timeframe trend slope
• ADX strength
• Directional Indicator confirmation
• Healthy session-range size
• Range compression
• Strong breakout candle body
• Strong closing position
• Increased tick volume
• Successful breakout retest
The trader selects the minimum score required for an entry.
This allows the strategy to be made more selective or more active without requiring every filter to be mandatory.
TREND CONTEXT
The EA can analyse the higher timeframe using:
• 20 EMA
• 50 EMA
• 200 EMA
• EMA slope
• ADX
• +DI / -DI directional confirmation
The 200 EMA can either act as part of the scoring system or as a mandatory directional filter.
SESSION RANGE ANALYSIS
The EA measures the completed session range relative to ATR.
This allows it to identify:
• Extremely narrow ranges
• Healthy ranges
• Overextended ranges
• Compressed market conditions
Minimum and maximum range filters are fully configurable.
BREAKOUT CONFIRMATION
The EA can evaluate the actual breakout candle using:
• Candle body-to-range ratio
• Closing strength
• Tick volume
• Breakout distance
• ATR-based breakout buffer
This helps separate simple touches of the range from stronger breakout attempts.
RISK MANAGEMENT
Aurex Gold Session Breakout includes several configurable stop-loss methods.
Stop Loss Options:
• ATR-based stop loss
• Fixed-point stop loss
• Opposite side of the session range
Take Profit Options:
• Risk-to-reward target
• Fixed-point target
• ATR-based target
Additional management tools include:
• Automatic break-even
• ATR trailing stop
• Fixed-distance trailing stop
• Fixed lot sizing
• Percentage-risk position sizing
• Maximum lot limit
• Daily loss protection
• Optional daily profit target
• Spread filter
• Maximum trades per day
• Optional one trade per session
• Optional end-of-day position closing
ADAPTIVE TIMEFRAME SYSTEM
The EA includes adaptive timeframe handling to improve compatibility with different charts and automated testing environments.
Its standard intended structure is:
H1 — market context
M15 — session range
M5 — breakout trigger
If the EA is tested or attached to a higher timeframe, the internal timeframe engine can automatically promote the required timeframes rather than relying on unavailable lower-timeframe data.
For very high timeframes such as D1, a historical-bar fallback range is available for testing compatibility.
IMPORTANT
Session and entry-window times use broker server time.
The trader should therefore check their broker's server time before selecting Asian-session and London-session hours.
The EA is an automated trading tool and does not guarantee profitable results.
Historical performance does not guarantee future performance.
Backtesting, optimisation and demo testing are recommended before considering live trading.
