Tarea técnica

Trading idea

The trading idea is based on a combination of short SMA,  long SMA and MACD. When the two moving averages cross this indicates either a buy or sell signal. The trend is determined by the MACD being either above or below the 0 line. Strength of the trend is also indicated by the MACD.

After the two moving averages cross. I would need a parameter to tweak the number of candles after the close of the cross MA to determine the entry point. MACD is showing an increase/decrease in the bars and that is another confirmation of entry.

Terms and definitions

SMA is the simple moving average

MACD positive indicates an upward trend

MACD negative indicates a downwards trend


Parameters required: Number of closed bars after SMA across. Number of consecutive increase/decrease values in MACD

Trading signals

To generate a buy signal the first rule is that the short SMA must cross below the long SMA. The next rule is that MACD must show three or more bars of increased value to show upward momentum.

To generate a sell signal the first rule is the short SMA must cross above the long SMA. The next rule is that MACD must show three or more bars of decreased value to show downward momentum.
