Educational MACD-GRID Hybrid Strategy

I would like to create an EA with a (hopefully!) simple premise, to help me to learn the MT4 language more rapidly and effectively than on my own. It will have several variables so that I can make changes to the strategy and performance of the EA and observe the changes in behaviour via back testing.

The proposed core strategy is a hybrid between the basic MACD buy/sell signals and a grid system. In essence a position is opened according to the MACD, and if additional open signals are received before the close signal, then a grid is created according to user defined variables. While the concept of a grid on the MACD may be fairly straightforward, I would also like to be able to enable / disable different states to create different dimensions of functionality. The different states are:

1. Increasing / decreasing the starting grid lot size, based on whether the H1 MACD signal line is going with or against the position that is being opened.
2. To switch between linear (steps) and geometric (multiples) progression in grid position sizes.
3. To switch between using trailing stops on positions, and not.
   

As the required functionality is merely a combination of existing basic MT4 functions and switches, I do not expect that the completion of this educational EA will infringe on any personal or confidential coding structures used by developers.

The final deliverable will be the source code for the EA that I can open and manipulate in the MetaEditor to further my learning objectives. There will be no limitations imposed on my freedom to do what I want with this source code after delivery (do not include proprietary elements that cannot be shared). Requirements of this final code:

1. The EA will be made for MT4.
   
2. The source code will compile without errors.
3. The resulting EA will run as expected without errors.
