where to download generic MT4 PC version???

Hi. Where exactly do I download the generic version of MT4??? Please don't say from a broker. When I go to https://www.metatrader4.com/en/download and click the "download MT4" link, it still installs the MT5 version. Why the deception? Thanks

[MQL4] Difference between SymbolInfoDouble(_Symbol, SYMBOL_ASK) and Ask (predefined variable)

Hi, would anyone know the difference between: a) double SymbolInfoDouble(_Symbol, SYMBOL_ASK ), and b) double Ask (i.e. predefined variable) The documentation tells me at " MQL4 Reference / Predefined Variables / Ask " that this is the latest known seller's price (ask price) for the current symbol

[MT4] disable showing trade history within chart

Hi,when I take trades in MT4 I get various symbols showing in my chart i.e. entry level (little blue arrow) and stoploss level (little red horizontal bar) as shown below. MT5 allows you to disable these trade history symbols from showing within the chart via Options > Chart > 'Show trade history'

Does MetaTrader 4 now use MQL5?

Hi, I have installed MetaTrader 4 Version 4.00 Build 1090, however when I go to Help menu, all the links there are for MQL5. So is MT4 compatible with the complete MQL5 specification now?? Thanks
