## 🎯 New Close Reference Leg Option

A new parameter has been added:

**CloseRefLeg**

This setting allows you to choose whether **Leg A** or **Leg B** is used as the reference when converting **Points** or **Percentage of Instrument Price** profit/loss targets into account currency.

This provides greater flexibility when trading instruments with different prices or contract specifications.

## 🛡 Improved Duplicate Position Protection

Version 1.22 introduces a completely redesigned protection system to prevent accidental duplicate trades.

### ✅ Automatic Position Recovery After Restart

When the EA is restarted, recompiled, or the chart is reloaded, it now automatically:

* Detects existing positions with the same Magic Number.
* Rebuilds the internal pair-trading state.
* Continues managing the existing trades instead of assuming no positions exist.

This eliminates the possibility of opening a second pair after an unexpected restart.

### ✅ Stronger Entry Safety Layer

Before opening any new trade, Smart Pair Trading now checks whether the account already contains positions using the same Magic Number.

If an existing trade is found, the EA synchronizes with it instead of opening duplicate positions.

Supported for all CloseUnit modes:

**UseSecondGate**

Instead of evaluating signals on every incoming tick, the EA evaluates entries and exits only at selected M1 checkpoints:

* **59 seconds**

This behavior closely matches MT5's **1 Minute OHLC** backtesting model.

# Smart Pair Trading MT5 – Version 1.22 Update

Version **1.22** is now available and includes several improvements to position management, trade handling, and execution behavior.

## New Feature: Close Reference Leg

A new input parameter, **CloseRefLeg**, has been added.

This option allows you to choose whether **Leg A** or **Leg B** is used as the reference when converting **Points** or **Percentage of Instrument Price** close targets into account currency.

This provides additional flexibility when trading instruments with different price scales.

## Improved Position Recovery

The EA now automatically checks for existing positions with the same **Magic Number** after:

* EA restart
* Recompilation
* Chart reload

If matching positions are found, the EA rebuilds its internal trading state and continues managing the existing trade instead of creating a new one.

## Additional Duplicate Position Protection

Before opening a new trade, the EA now performs an additional verification to determine whether positions with the configured Magic Number already exist.

If existing positions are detected, the EA synchronizes its internal state instead of opening another position.

The trading time configuration has been redesigned to make scheduling much easier.

The previous hour/minute inputs have been replaced with four intuitive HH time settings:

InpDailyStartTime – Daily trading start time

InpPendingCloseTime – Time to close all open positions each day
