I would like to conduct an 'experiment' that may require multiple projects to complete. I am looking for a developer with a strong background in EA and indicator development that is willing to collaborate on this experiment. Extra time used in support and collaborative effort will end up in an additional project to cover that time.
In observing the market, it seems clear that at times market volatility increases dramatically for a fairly short period of time. We might see significant movement in the direction of the market for from 1 to 8 or so candles before the activity settles down again.
I have developed a method that I think will capture these times when the market 'takes off' and then when it settles down again. I have had various EAs and indicators developed for me that I believe would benefit significantly from integration of notification of these 'pulses' in the market.
I think that the initial development might require 5 to 8 hours of work, if you are comfortable in working with MQL4 tick and pricing data in the language.
The main concept is to measure ticks and prices in 'buckets' of time. Then, based on an average of these two streams of data, to identify other 'buckets' of time in which the market has a significant spurt in activity and price movement. These conditions would be considered 'high volatility' bursts of activity.
I would like to filter my current systems based on these bursts of activity. So that when the market is calm, that I can ignore the present BUY / SELL signals which are outside of the activity bursts.
This might be considered an unusual project. I hope that it might also be a fun 'experiment' for me and a developer that finds this idea interesting.
You will see a summary of this idea in the attached file. I am willing to send more information to developers who would like to try their hand at making a new sort of volatility measurement in the MT4 environment.
Please consider including background information on the types of projects that you have done in the past and what you think about this idea.
Thank you.
