yes, still there are some fixed spreads brokers

but they are pre-inform the traders that the spread would be higher than the normal conditions as previously defined

yes. some brokers has the fixed spread, but those broker is market makers. news time those brokers disabling order executions mostly.

Yes. That's natural. They have to cover their risk involved by volatility.

You should read their fine prints.

They will probably say that during economic announcements,  market openings,  non-lliquid times the fixed spreads they advertise can increase way more.
