It doesn't need to be rewritten. To work in MT4, change the extension to mq4. It compiles and works without problems.

Well, this issue does not work with all sources, so in some cases MT5 (or manual porting of sources to MT4) is not an option.

I believe that MT5 should have been designed fully backward compatible with MT4. Now little by little the case goes to the fact that compatibility will be. Then the appearance of MT5 adherents will be justified and painless.

As long as there is no full compatibility, the barriers remain. Compatibility is a useful thing. Radical approaches are not justified in this case.
