How to place a trade with MT4 ?

i downloaded the fxtm demo software metatrader 4 but i dont know how to use it to place a trade.
 

I don't know how to set up stocks to trade on an MT platform.  However, for placing an order on MT4, there are a few ways to do this.

You have to have the chart for the item open that you want to order for one of the ways.  You can right click, and then at the bottom, there is a selection to place an order, and that also shows a hotkey of F9.  You can also select the Tools button at the top of the TP window, and that has an Order selection in there as well, and it also has the hotkey F9 marked there.  Also, and this is the most blatant one, at least on my terminal, there is a button with what looks like a piece of paper with a green + sign and "New Order" next to it.
