subwindows fail to reopen

Since a few days (version 555 I think), subwindows (like navigator, toolbox) or even toolbars, which I dragged off the main program window (using the mouse), fail to reopen automatically on startup, and I always have to reopen them manually (sometimes twice, for the toolbox)
It was working fine before and I really found this very convenient for me.
It has the same behavior on my 2 computers, both using Vista (so I don't think it comes from my computers)
