Add a One-Click “Reverse Position” Button to MetaTrader 5

Dear MetaQuotes Development Team,

First of all, thank you for your continued efforts to improve MetaTrader 5 and provide traders around the world with a powerful and professional trading platform.

I would like to propose a highly practical and valuable feature for a future MT5 update: a dedicated “Reverse Position” button or option, similar to the functionality available in TradingView.

Why is this feature important?

In fast-moving markets, traders sometimes need to change their position direction immediately. Currently, reversing a position in MT5 often requires multiple actions, such as closing the existing position and then opening a new one in the opposite direction.

This process can lead to unnecessary delays, additional clicks, and potentially missed opportunities—especially during periods of high volatility.

My suggestion

Please consider introducing a dedicated “Reverse” button directly within the Trade tab or the position management interface.

With a single click, this feature would:

  • Close the currently open position.

  • Immediately open a new position in the opposite direction.

  • Maintain the same trading volume by default, while allowing the user to adjust it if desired.

  • Minimize execution delays and simplify position management.

Why MT5 users would appreciate it

This seemingly small enhancement could make a significant difference to the trading experience. It would improve workflow efficiency, make position management more intuitive, and bring MT5 closer to the convenience and flexibility offered by other modern trading platforms.

MetaTrader 5 is already one of the most powerful trading platforms available. Adding this functionality would make it even more efficient, user-friendly, and competitive.

I sincerely hope the development team will consider this suggestion for implementation in an upcoming update.
