The position is opened at a different price. - page 2

He opens positions at a higher price, and there's no problem with the bin/ask lines because everything works fine on the other account with the same broker. Changing currencies doesn't help either.

Can a broker earn more this way?

Please don't assume this is done intentionally.

We can't confirm anything on this forum from videos, though they seems to show something is wrong on the broker side.

Talk to your broker and wait for their answer. If they don't recognize the issue then hopefully it's a regulated broker and you will have to complain officially.

The worst part is that they've been investigating this for three weeks and haven't received a response. I'd say they're just dismissing it and apologizing. Yes, it's a regulated broker, but not in my country. It has several regulators.

What good will a complaint like this do me?

Honestly I don't know. I don't have experience with such complaint.

Though, in the first place, I would insist with your broker support, at least they should escalate the issue to a high level. Provide them all evidences (logs, trading history, screenshots...).

... and closing a position on a positive note. Ultimately, the historical record is negative.

P/Ls in Trade are different from P/Ls in History, MT5 writes the same thing but actually they are different.

P/L in Trade + Commission = P/L in History

P/L in Trade 1.36  1.01  0.47  0.39  0.12 -0.82

Slippage         ...     ...    ...     ...    ...      ...

Commission  -0.30 -0.30 -0.30 -0.30 -0.30 -0.30

-----------------------------------------------------------

P/L in History 0.82  0.47 -0.08 -0.16 -0.43 -1.36

You need to know/calculate commission and fee before and during opening a position to avoid this trap.

I know how slippage works, and I know it's not slippage!! If you open a position and the price moves slowly, and then you open it 10 points higher, and you're immediately down, and a significant amount at that, you know something's wrong.

Likewise, if you close all positions that are positive and then go to the history and see that everything is negative, something is wrong.

You can see that the price is stagnant and the opening is much worse.

Yes, there is really a problem in the chart you show.

I mean that I am not surprised when positions closed with P/L > 0 but so small in Trade become negative in History as they include commission.

Yes, I see the problem. When ask = 4173.66, you place a buy order and MT5 shows 4173.81, an offset of +15 points. There is a difference between data used to show on chart and data used to order. However, if this situation happens the same way when you close positions, i.e., the exit price is offset in the same distance from the chart price, there will be no loss for you, just a matter of technical annoyance.

A real ECN account. It opens positions for me immediately after pressing buy. I also bought a VPS server on MT5, and it makes no difference. The problem isn't random; it happens every time I open and close a position. I don't have these problems on my private account with the same broker. So it's clearly the broker's fault. Broker's response: I've been fighting with them since the beginning of the month. I can't say which broker it is, or my post will be deleted from the forum.

But why doesn't it open correctly on one account and everything is fine on the other?

It appears that you've answered your own question prior to asking it. If you indeed have a real Electronic Communications Nework (wholesale/interbank) account, you're trading in a pool of traders who generally trade 50 to 100 standard lots per trade. I can tell you based on my own experience that the execution of smaller trades inherently suffers in a pool of massive trades. This of course, assumes that you're not trading 50 to 100 standard lots, yourself.

If on the other hand, you believe that the problem is actually your button utility, see:
