Dynamic lots sizing
Fixed lot size doesn't mean fixed risk. Widen the stop and you're risking more money. Shrink the account and that same lot risks a bigger percentage of what's left. Keeping the number unchanged doesn't automatically make it conservative
For survival mode, I'd favour percentage risk calculated from "current equity and the actual SL distance". Wider stop, smaller lot. Lower equity, smaller exposure. Simply increasing lots with the balance while ignoring the stop distance isn't proper risk control
Fixed lots can work with disciplined adjustments. But whichever method you use, look at the combined exposure. Opening five related trades doesn't make them five independent risks just because each has a small percentage attached
And neither method creates an edge. A bad strategy with sensible sizing can still lose money, just more slowly. Survival comes from controlling losses while trading something that actually deserves your capital

Hello traders,
With recent volatility across major pairs and Gold (XAUUSD), risk management has become more critical than the entry signal itself.
For those running automated systems or strict manual strategies: do you prefer using a fixed lot size with manual adjustments, or dynamic lot sizing based on equity percentage per trade? Why?
