As a last resort, you might want to try PlayOnLinux (free). MT5 is in the list of supported software. Just be aware that support for MT5 was officially approved in 2023 without much support discussion thereafter. There are 5 thumbs up reviews and 5 thumbs down reviews, all undated.

That's a good place to start. I kind of got used to Kali Linux back when I used to do a bunch of CTF challenges and I keep it around since it works for everything else and is familiar. I guess its time to try out Ubuntu

Its a good option, but with a bit of research I can see it is wine based so it might face the same issue. After all, the previous builds of MT5 did and still work on my wine version.
It's been about a year since I last ran MetaTrader on Linux, so I'm not sure whether these solutions still work with the latest Wine updates. I was using Arch Linux at the time.
  • For the MESA-INTEL warning: Try running winecfg first, then launch the MT5 terminal using wine <terminal.exe path> .
  • Try Bottles via Flatpak: Install Bottles from Flathub, create a new bottle, and try installing MetaTrader 5 inside it.

These are the two approaches I used to work around the issues I encountered back then. Things may have changed with newer Wine versions, so I can't guarantee they'll still work, but hopefully this helps.
