Lakaka 44:
-
Allow algorithmic trading: Disabled (unchecked).
-
Allow DLL imports: Disabled (unchecked).
-
Disable algorithmic trading via external Python API: Greyed out and unchecked.
In my current Beta MT5 terminal, 6259 is showing as the latest version so I can't test 6266... yet.
Anyway, make sure that Python integration is checked in the Community tab of MT5 Options, and the Python path is added to MetaEditor.
Logically. when all algorithmic trading is disabled, selectively disabling algorithmic trading via Python is likely rendered defunct.

Hello,
I am using MetaTrader 5 build 6266 on Windows with a demo account.
Under Tools → Options → Expert Advisors, I have the following settings:
Allow algorithmic trading: Disabled (unchecked).
Allow DLL imports: Disabled (unchecked).
Disable algorithmic trading via external Python API: Greyed out and unchecked.
I am developing a read-only Python diagnostic tool to analyze market tick data. I want to ensure that no trading orders can be placed through the Python API.
I have a few questions:
Why is the external Python API trading restriction checkbox greyed out when algorithmic trading is disabled?
Is there an officially supported way to enable this restriction while keeping algorithmic trading disabled?
What value should MetaTrader5.terminal_info().tradeapi_disabled return in this situation?
Is there a documented, safe procedure for build 6266?
I do not want to enable automated trading or test order execution.
Thank you for your assistance.
