Hello,
I am investigating an unexpected timestamp discrepancy with MetaTrader 5 Python integration.
Environment:
- Windows
- MT5 terminal path: C:\Program Files\MetaTrader 5
- Terminal build reported by Python: 6258
- MT5 Journal reports build 6259
- Python package: MetaTrader5 5.0.6070
- Server: MetaQuotes-Demo
- Symbol: XAUUSD
At the time of the test, system UTC was:
2026-10-14T08:28:25.765Z
The Python API returned:
tick.time = 1791977304
tick.time_msc = 1791977304978
Interpreting these values as Unix timestamps gives approximately:
2026-10-14T11:28:24Z
2026-10-14T11:28:24.978Z
Both values are internally consistent, but they appear approximately three hours ahead of system UTC.
Could you please explain the expected timestamp semantics and recommend safe steps to investigate this discrepancy?
I have not applied any timezone correction.
Thank you.
