MetaQuotes-Demo XAUUSD commission clarification — SymbolInfoCommissions returns 0

I need an authoritative clarification for technical validation.

Environment:

  • Company: MetaQuotes Ltd.
  • Server: MetaQuotes-Demo
  • Account: USD-denominated DEMO
  • Symbol: XAUUSD
  • MT5 build: 6151

On 2026-09-03 at 10:21:51 UTC, SymbolInfoCommissions("XAUUSD", rules) returned 0 , meaning no symbol commission rules were specified.

Does this mean the actual trading commission for this exact MetaQuotes-Demo account group and XAUUSD is exactly zero, excluding spread and swap?

Specifically, can any of the following still apply despite zero returned symbol rules:

  • entry commission
  • exit commission
  • separately booked commission
  • transaction fees
  • daily/monthly commission
  • minimum ticket charges
  • tiered/volume-based charges

If commission is zero, please confirm that explicitly.

If any commission or fee applies, please provide the exact model, charging currency, per-side or round-turn basis, booking timing, minimum/maximum charge, tiers, rounding/conversion rules, and account-group applicability.

For Level 0 validation, I specifically need either a reply from MetaQuotes staff/admin or a first-party MetaQuotes reference.

Thank you.

The MQ Demo account is not for the purpose of verifying nor testing of high resolution tick, spread, swap, nor commission data; nor for the purpose of simulating live trading. To answer your specific question, no, there are no commissions in the MQ Demo account.

I do however, use the MQ Beta terminal and the MQ Demo account to test general code functionality and to stay ahead of the MT5 Release version curve, so to speak.

This is fairly common knowledge here in the Forum.
