I love the MT5 platform and the customization options it brings, but I hate that it is Windows-native. For me, a native desktop application for macOS (M1/ARM) or Linux (Ubuntu/Mint, etc.) is becoming increasingly important.
The current Mac clients running on Wine do not perform well. How come all other major platform providers offer native desktop terminal applications for Mac, Linux, and Windows, while the AWARD-winning platform Metatrader 5 does not?
And yes, I know you can buy a new Windows-based PC, rent a VPS (dedicated/ shared - good for running bots/EA's), or run MT5 on Parallels. I now use Parallels as an intermediary solution, but it also affects the host computer's performance.
Knowing that more users have requested this feature but without success is slowly pushing me away from the MT5 platform and toward another broker that offers Mac- or Linux-based applications, especially given the latest Windows 11 features Microsoft introduced.
Is this a roadmap item for Metatrader?
