EA Modification

I have been trying to have my Grid/Martingale EA modified to make it safer and more efficient.
Unfortunately, the feedback and results coming in have been unsuccessful.

1. Can a skilled MQL5 programmer modify an EA with any conceivable modification idea possible?

2. Does the ability of a programmer to successfully handle complex modification task depend on the skill set level and the experience of the programmer?

Please, help clarify.

Thank you.

Yes, anything is possible, but you will need to prepare a specification file.

Post your requirements as a job in the Freelance section please.

Eleni,
All I wanted to know is whether what I want is possible or not.
Thank you so much.

You didn't say anything about your strategy or requirements, how do you expect an answer?

My advice is to post your idea in the requirements specification, in the Freelance section and you will get applicants for your job.

Eleni, below is my modification idea, please.
Kindly advise.

SOLUTION
:

1. Integrate a smart “Switch Mode”: Pullback ⇆ Trend-following.

2. Set a maximum number of positions (Pullback threshold) after which Switch Mode would be activated.

2. The integrated Switch Mode will be activated when pullback threshold is reached (3 positions adjustable)

3. EA automatically switches from Pullback Mode to Trend-following Mode.

4. EA takes a one Trend-following position in the opposite direction of the Pullback positions.

5. The single Trend-following position carries a bigger lot size (3.0 adjustable).

6. Trend-following position also carries small Take Profit (20 pips adjustable)

7. When Trend-following position hits TP, ALL POSITIONS, including Pullback positions, are automatically closed.

8. If Trend-following position fails to hit TP and it reverses, that position must terminate at the point of entry (breakeven).
This is to avoid floating losses.

9. When Trend-following position terminates at point of entry, Pullback positions will run and hit their basket TP.

10. Once Trend-following positions close, either at TP or point of entry (Breakeven), the EA reverses to its default Pullback Mode.
