Dishonest Freelance Developer

hi,

i have an issue with a freelance developer  which i have selected.

the work was not completely done and he asked for release of payment because he said it will take mql514 days to release the payment to him. so i obliged and release to him even when certain part of the work is not done 100%.

however, certain specs was still not done properly despite repeated discussions, and the worst part is i have to keep testing it to find out the problems. i told him i would cancel the job and ask for refund if he continued doing work without checking and dumping it on me to check.

then he stopped work and refused to make the refund.

how can i contact mql5 not to release payment to this developer?

anyway, this is the guy.

This is your mistake and the reason for the situation you find yourself in. You cannot go to arbitration after you have released the payment. Never release payment until you are sure that the requirements specification is 100% met and the solution provided works correctly.

The only thing that remains for you is to try contacting support. But I'm afraid your chances are not very high.

As a general rule the developers check the performance of their products using strategy tester before delivery. This can cause problems if they have little experience. However they should fix errors and bugs whenever they appear. Expecting a developer to keep on testing for long before delivery is not fair as the freelancing fee does not encourage most freelancers to do so.
The customers have a hard time to find the proper developer who they can collaborate for several jobs. But at least you should not release funds before job completion specially when you are having your first experiences with a developer.

In general, costumers do not value our services as developers. We set a fair price, but most of the costumers prefer to pay the usual "30 - 50" dollars price for the cheapest freelance worker they find in the platform. I am not saying this is the case, but this is super usual. I've had a costumer who told me he could not pay me the fair price I told him because he had already lost some hundreds of dollars scammed by one of those "project managers" as they call themselves. I told this costumer it was not my fault if he got stolen and I could not also pay the price accepting to do a complex job for a very unrealistic low price. So, costumers!! Pay attention. Or you pay the fair price for a serious and competent developer or be a possible victim of scammers.

Yeah.. like.. When it comes to me, a bad written "gpt" code, I put at least 100 dollars for my price. No costumer has ever accepted to pay the price either. So I always tell them "good luck!".

Like most platforms quantity is more important than quality here. I try to get along with it.
