On MT5 strategy tester numbers of trades on Chart and Journal don't match by a magnitude of 100

Hello everyone and Happy Easter to those who celebrate!

Recently I ran into very interesting issue, MT5 strategy tester generated trades don't match at all on chart and in journal, let's say, in the backtest tab I see 11 trades, and the chart is showing 2793 trades. I expect a high number of trades, like it's on the chart but journal entries don't match anything on chart at all.

Where should I dig?

where's your evidence? you only showed image of your mt5. It does not show the total number of trades, nor what you claim 2793 trades.

I did noticed that it is a netting account. maybe this is why. Most eas are designed to trade on hedging accounts.

What if you took my word for it?  On the screenshot I've shown the details of the first position, which don't match with the journal entry. Weird, isn't it?

Do you use an EA?

Do you use an EA?

for trail stops, yeah. but open trades manually.

Actually it's done by an EA I've created from scratch. On both, netting and hedging accounts the same

I think it's an issue with particular installation of MT5, cause another installation with the same account, the same EA is running completely differently.

when was the last time that you cleaned the tester folder and downloaded the tick/history? there are several threads on this site where it was proven that the tickdata was corrupted after a windows update or update of metatrader.

You may even just need to defrag the files in the tester folder. In which case it may be easier to simply delete the tester folder in this case also.
