CFD of Index vs CFD of ETF of the Index

Hi

I have been trading UNLEVERAGED ETFs on non metatrader broker of Indices (NASDAQ100,S&P500) and Metals(Gold, Silver) .
I was always buying .Long
The reason for this choice was because no Swap is being charged and I can hold a position for months without  much stress.

I will now seek MT5 brokers that offer ETFs on the relevant instruments  so I can use EAs. I don't know if I will find that they offer without swap.
Given you have 1:1 leverage and you go long no swap should be charged as you are no longer borrowing

My question is , to people who have traded both ETFs and the actual Asset.
Is there a benefit of Buying the CFD of an Index   compared to the ETF  (Example Buy S&P500  vs the CFD of the ETF  (Example CFD of SPY)).
Do the brokers tend to charge higher spread /commission in the ETF compared to the standard Asset?

I am not looking for broker recommendation but instead reasons as to why one should trade one over the other over an MT5 broker.

MQL5 is primarily forex-focused (most brokers catering to FX, commodities and indices). So you'll likely need to conduct your own research.

As you know Broker discussions, recommendations or suggestions are not allowed on the forum.

It seems you did not understand. Irrespective of your last sentence, your subject is very close to that of "discussing brokers".

For example, your question ... "Do the brokers tend to charge higher spread /commission in the ETF compared to the standard Asset?"

So, the moderator @Oleksandr Medviediev is simply advising you to keep that in mind. Had it been "scolding", your topic would have simply been removed. He was simply advising you—nothing more.

Also as stated, most users here are Forex or CFD trades with a few trading Futures and even less than that trading ETFs or even real Stocks.

So your chances of getting any useful answers will be slim-to-none and you are better off doing some research on your own or visiting other forums more in tune with the subject you want to discuss.

I appreciate your clarification. Please feel free to focus on the first line in my response.

If I may suggest, throw CME futures into the mix of trading instruments. Standard tick sizes, 1 to 2 tick spreads, no swaps, and decent leverage... all on a centralized exchange in the United States. Cyprus residents most likely have access to it.

And yes, use MT5 to auto-trade it.😉
