Hey, i just started learning mql4 recently, and i am automating known indicators like MACD, SMA, EMA, Bollinger Bands, RSI...
Not to make profit just to learn the language.
I was messing around with the RSI EA and it had amazing results in the backtest (strategy tester) over the past 12 months with 100% modeling quality.
Like really amazing results, they are too good to be true. I am still in shock. On a 100k account it did 250k net profit with 3.5k max dd.
Here are my settings:
-RSI period = 7
-M1 timeframe
-overbought = 90
-oversold = 10
-lot size = 5
-stoploss = 15 pips
-take profit = 75 pips

Has anyone tried it? If yes did you get similar results?
PS: I haven't tried it on demo yet, i'm planing on doing it, this all happened like 2 hours ago.

 

The MT4 strategy tester may not be as reliable as it appears, even with a 100% modeling quality, particularly on the 1-minute timeframe.

For a more accurate test, try running the same setup on the MT5 strategy tester. Make sure you're logged into a real account in your MT5 terminal first, so it can download real historical ticks from the broker's server. With a 100% test quality in MT5, the results are almost identical to actual market conditions.
