Will the prices of making programs go down rise or stay the same assuming the development of Artificial Intelligence? - page 2

Source ? Arguments ?

If everyday people can code with AI, then the cost of hiring someone to do it goes way down, obviously.

But that's not true. Come back to the real world😄

I can hire you for 1 hour to finish my AI code rather than hiring for 3 hours to code it ground up.   I already reduce the cost by miles in the real world.

I would not agree to edit generated garbage.

And if I theoretically agreed to this, it would cost you much more, since I would have to restore the technical specifications from that code and then write normal code from scratch.

supply and demand are real world. There is less demand for me to hire you for 3 hours to finish my code because AI coded a template of what I asked for free.  Now I just need 1 hour for you.

Well, it is an example not direct toward you personally.  These dynamics are already in play in the so-called Real World

But this is only purely theoretical. In practice, I would simply say that I cannot help you unless you provide the technical task instead of the generated code. Because I would not want to waste time restoring the technical task from that code.

Yes, of course, I understand that you are speaking in general and not about me specifically. I told you what I would do in the hypothetical situation we are discussing. I'm not saying that all programmers share my point of view. Maybe I'm the only one like this😄

Just saying with everything, if everyone can do some of it, then that reduces the amount they need someone else to do it.

At the moment, you cannot save the programmer’s time by generating some part of the code for him yourself. This will only increase development time and communication time, and will not save it. AI generates nonsense that will take up the programmer's time, not save it.

if i have an automatic robot dishwasher at my restaurant, then I dont need 2 people anymore.  I just need 1 person to make sure it runs right.  This happens all day everyday all over the world
