Connection - automatic proxy configuration script

Hi,

I am trying to get MetaTrader to connect from my workplace and I am having connection problems.

Issue: All applications in here (web browserc etc.) use an automatic proxy configuration script to access the internet. It is not of the usual form of proxy server and port number, it takes the form:
http://www-proxy.mycompany.com:3132/accelerated_pac_base.pac. Is there anyway I can configure Metatrader to pickup/bypass these settings?

The registration progress bar that connects to MIG-Demo fills up but the username and password fields below this are never populated and the finish button never becomes active. I can only click back/cancel.

The corporate firewall may be causing issues too, but i don't think it is even get that far...

Any help/ideas?

Thanks
B

Does...

Menu --- Tools - Options - Server Tab -- Enable Proxy Server (checkbox)

... be what you seek?

HI,

thanks for your reply. I entered the the URL to the config. script in the box and selected the HTTP option but this does not work. I know it should be possible to connect as other applications such as FXCM Trading station can connect but configuring is the trick!! When I select 'test' on the dialog box to enter the proxy the test fails.

Hi,

it doesn't seem to give me (or i can't see) any useful information. On the RHS of the HEX dump i think is the reassembled packet and all that is decipherable is my PC name and my network login...

I'm not sure if there is a way around it with Metatrader unless maybe HTTP tunnelling was possible..
