What I found is that when closing a chart and saving the profile, the file (MQL5\Profiles\Charts\PROFILE_NAME\chartXX.chr) remains available in the folder.  When the terminal is restarted, this chart will appear again. The solution is (if you have removed any chart) to delete the profile and create it again. Then the number of charts will correspond exactly to what is in the terminal.
