i need this feature to turn off as this is not convenient to me. I  use ctrl+left mouse click to select the entire word.  This is one of the most used keyboard shortcuts for me. 

Use double-click instead.
 
I also hope this doesn't get added, or that it's changeable. I prefer middle mouse to go to definition and ctrl+click to select words as is currently
 
I am thankful to admins that they listened and removed this bug like feature finally. Now Its working fine in build 4260
