I really love the efforts put into developing the mobile app for MT5. The Limits and Stops Button, the Buy and Sell Buttons and the Trade exit and entries Arrow plus the new layout is something else, beautifully designed.
In the Spirit of making the MT5 App more user friendly,
This will be really super helpful for Traders. So they don't miss out on
- Price crossing a Line or Trendline
- Price crossing a Moving Average
- Alert on Close of the Day or a Candle.
Weldone to the Dev. Team, the really did justice on the App. Cheers
- mobile trading app that allows technical alert set up
- MT5 Mobile Update?
- A possible update of MT4 apps on Androids?
Chukwuemena Okonkwo:
I'll like to suggest an update to MetaQuotes for the MT5 Mobile App to have the feature of letting users setting alarms and notifications from prices.

Why?
That requires a constant connection to data and will eat up your battery and heat-up your mobile device due to high CPU usage.
It's a mobile phone, not a desktop computer.
Do what others do — create an indicator that sends out push notifications and put it on a VPS.

You're overthinking it,
Here's why:
A trader makes an Analysis on his phone, is expecting the price to reach a certain Zone, Price Level or Cross and Close. He/She draws the Lines on the chart in the phone but no Alert when Price finally hits.
From the way MT5 revamped the app, there was focus on User Experience than previously. This new feature will aid the User experience more.
I really appreciate your Concerns, They are Valid, I respect that.
How about this
CPU Usage: The Alerts feature can begin with a Bar Close Alert. So it only triggers or checks condition once per bar close instead of all the time. The number of Alerts per device can be limited to like 3 or 4 to reduce CPU usage.
Data: Whenever MT5 is opened, Chart Data is downloaded. Also even without opening MT5 app notifications still come from margin calls articles, forums, that also uses Data. Data would not be an issue for someone who wants to receive alert. I mean, it's that can be enabled or disabled
VPS accumulates costs.
Running a VPS just to have an Indicator send you push notification that you have to login and manually draw on that same VPS everytime you need a Price Alert is not worth it.
It's understandable for an EA, or a complex strategy that needs alerts, but for a simple line C'mon 🤲🏾
Phone is convenient. 🙏🏾
