I agree, this would definitely not be ideal. Not to mention very difficult to keep the alignment up to date as the chart progresses or is resized.

Yes! Unfortunately the plot styles do not offer any kind of "hollow" candles. You will have to rely on filled colours to differentiate between bull and bear candles.

You can generate hollow candles to you heart's content if you take a gander at the article below. The article is really well done.
