Did you find an solution to this?
I can't connect to any of my account servers (except for Metaquotes-Demo) on my desktop MT5 app for MAC. The account numbers with the little person icon are orange (instead of green). When I click on network bottom right, there are zero bars and it is grey and constantly searching.
I haven't had any issues until yesterday. I have tried restarting. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the MT5 app. I have checked for updates. I have checked my account credentials multiple times. It is not working on any of my three accounts (with different brokers). EDIT: I have checked internet connection.
It must be an issue in the app (not the broker), as I can connect to the accounts fine using the mobile app.
I am at a loss for what to do next and would really appreciate some help.

I have never seen this problem before. At a mere guess, I would make sure to have all account info written down on paper, back up the entire MT5 Data Folder, and then go back to the MT5 Data Folder ==> config, delete the accounts.dat file, and then reinstall the accounts via MT5 Open an Account.
If that doesn't work, delete the entire Data Folder, reinstall MT5, and selectively paste only necessary files into the new Data Folder.
(Other traders have reported improved compatibility (although not 100%) with mac by installing a Windows emulator such as free Wine for mac.)I needed to install the latest version. Then I found that none of my accounts would actually let me connect to their server; even though credentials were correct. The server access in the lower right hand of the terminal was clearly not connected, and remained in spinning mode (no packets or info sending or coming).
I questioned if my broker had disabled my account; but even the MetaQuotes demo account also would not connect. Logging in to these accounts from the mobile MT5 terminal worked just fine; only the Desktop terminal was having the connectivity issue.
Alas, I found the platform article: MetaTrader 5 Help > Getting Started > For Advanced Users > Installation on Mac OS (article link). I found that since I had to install the MetaTrader (and I tried several attempts to remove and install it), when removing the Application from computer, I also needed to remove 2 key directories, as the article instructs:
Delete the following folders from this directory:
~/Library/Application Support/Metatrader\ 5
~/Library/Application Support/net.metaquotes.wine.metatrader5
I proceeded to do so, from the terminal using the command
rm -r /Users/jmilller/Library/Application\ Support/Metatrader\ 5
rm -r /Users/jmilller/Library/Application\ Support/net.metaquotes.wine.metatrader5/
Then I installed the MT5 with a fresh install. Removing the application icon from the system is 1 step; the above mentioned directories need to also be removed so that when you go to install, it’s regenerating these directories afresh and anew.
