Hot to get data from Metatrader 4.

Hello,

I use Matlab (www.mathworks.com) to develop and test my trading systems. Soon I will use Metatrader to trade in Forex.

I know I can save CSV data files in Metatrader 4.

But is there a way to get data directly from Metatrader 4?
Maybe an API as in Metatrader 3. Maybe another way?

Can someone help me out?

Both MT3 and MT4 support DDE.
Turn it on under Tools >> Options >> Server tab

There's no more API for MT4 anymore as in MT3. But you can build an expert or indicator that calls out to a DLL, but the initiative must come from inside MT.

Hi Friends,

Can anyone help me rent MQL5-VPS? I've being trading with it in 2021 but got the message renewal failed in Jan. 2022.  Up to this day, I'm not able to log in to my account. Which means no login, no VPS and no trading.  Thanks for your tips and great help. Nillscash.
