I want to backtest a EA strategy on Indices, DE40 1min.

I try to download 1min data, but there are no more data back than 1 week.
Is there any place I can get this data?

In worst case get free DAX data somewhere?

I`m only interested in the trading happening in open hours of DAX anyway...

If you are trading the hour chart, why are you downloading lower timeframes?

It is MT5 that only has M1 data and creates all higher timeframes.

 

I startet using MT4 last week so cant say I know much about it.

But you say only MT5 has the lower timeframes  >1hour ?
The strategy is based on two timeframes. 1min and 5min.
Why dont MT4 have lower timeframes?

You misunderstand.

On MT4 you can have lower time-frames all the way to M1, of which each time-frame is sourced separately from the broker, each time-frame with a different starting date.

On MT5 however, the broker only supplies M1 data, and all the other time-frames are internally generated from that M1 data, so all their starting dates are the same.
