The problem with technical indicators and all technical analysis in general is that they do not change their behaviour depending on the object of study. Apply the MACD to a price chart - at times it will show divergence and convergence, it will shift from the positive to the negative zone. Apply it to the most primitive SB chart - it will show the same patterns and will possess the same behaviour. The question is why should we believe this indicator, if it will give the same indications on obviously meaningless data?
Stop dreaming about girls! Let's face it - even if she lived in St Petersburg, the effect would be the same! The problem isn't really where she is.
Still want to understand Henya's muddled logic - there's a thermometer. It, too, does not change its behaviour depending on the object of study. Does that cast doubt on its abilities? There is a graph of SB, MNC will find a linear regression on it, i.e. a linear functional dependence, which SB does not actually have. Does this call into question the apparatus of regression analysis?
So shouldn't we abandon both thermometers and regression analysis?
Everyone chooses the best tool for themselves. But it seems to me that the 'lever system' can take its rightful place ...
