Nguyen Dai Phuc:
Hello everyone.
I have EA on MT4 and backtest with Tick Data Suite, it has very nice result. Today I convert my EA to MT5 and backtest with everytick, it is different. So doese anyone has experience with this problem? Which one should I believe?
- The 99% of TickDatasSuite is set not calculated, so it means nothing.
- Mt4 and Mt5 handle various things (spread, crossrates, ...) differently so the results must be different.
- Mt5 gives you more options to check unfavourable market scenarios - use this and do not stick to the best result.
- The (optimized) test can only be the first step, try your EA immediately on demo accounts with various symbols (if it would make sense) - always look for the worst result as this can break your (financial) neck.
