Its not quitte viable these days with commercial hardware 

Go here and see what your machine can output per day (i can mine 245 satoshis per day or 0.00000245 BTC with an i3 cpu only)

With a Threadripper and 6 GPU's (RTX 3090) you could mine 0.00239586 BTC per day ,so in 20 months you would have one bitcoin if the global hash rate was stable)

[the electricity cost of this would be at 22$ per day (in Greece)]
