MT5 CHARTS FREEZE and not updating price - page 2

sounds like you have already found the solution.

I am experiencing the same problem for several weeks now: that is, the candles being printed do not reflect the correct price--the price line of a bearish candle would appear high above it, for example. Thus, if one is relying on analysis of price action, the trader could definitely be led astray and suffer losses!

This has been happening with two different brokers in two different prop firms I have accounts with. When I contacted the help desk of prop firm A, I was asked to re-install the MT5 platform. For a while, the problem seemed to have been resolved but now, it's frustratingly back.

With prop firm B, the charts are OK when seen on my android phone but not on my PC (Windows 10) where I prefer to do my technical analysis.

If anyone can suggest a permanent fix, I'd be hugely indebted.

tell us about your setup. What version of windows, and what hardware you have.

Is your internet wifi, ethernet, and is it satellite, cell, or landline?

But the first thing i would try, the next time it happens, is change the server at bottom right of mt4/5 screen.

if that works, then, it means you have a crap internet connection. And there is nothing you can do about that but to move to a different geographical location where your internet connection to the broker is more reliable. Changing the data server at bottom right of screen will often work, but it has to be changed manually. So, it is only a temporary solution.

You could also try this: find a cheap or free vps and see if you have same issue on the vps. If you do, then, it is a sure sign that it is the broker and the propfirm doing suspicious things. In the old days, STP brokers would create delays between the client price and the live liquidity price. This created many opportunities for both the broker and liquidity provider to bet against their clients and make more personal profits for the broker. This still happens today in the year 2024. It is just much harder to detect nowadays.

However it the vps is free of the issue, and you do not want to use and pay for a vps month to month, then, you did say that your android phone does not have the same issue, then, how does the android access the internet? If it has its own internet, then, I suggest that you connect hotspot on the android device and use wifi or usb cable to connect to the trading device.
