I am currently studying in Canada under the program "Computer Programmer". In my course, I see that somewhere around 10% of students use Macs, and they constantly have problems installing software for developers.

Why do you need to install MetaTrader on your Mac?
Install MetaTrader in the cloud on Windows Server and work fully in it from your Mac. The issue price is 7-60 euros per month (depending on what cloud or dedicated server , as well as degrees of show-offs ).

I think your "financial wealth" will not suffer much. Moreover, you will get 100% online for algorithmic trading and your show-offs will not suffer (you will not need to humiliate yourself in front of the surrounding real boys that you use Windows :).

I can not reply on your question on the way you want. Because I am not using MacOS Catalina (and never used it).
And I have no idea about the following: MT5 is compatible with MacOS Catalina, or not.

Your wine is still in windows XP mode.

You need to go into settings and set it to windows 7 or higher.

Catalina dropped all 32 Bits application support.

So, this does not only count for MetaTrader 4 but for all 32 Bits applications.

In stead you use MetaTrader 5 64 Bits.

You want to run an ancient application on a hyper modern operating system, the two are incompatible.

You have three choices.

1. Use a newer 64 Bits application that can run on the modern computer.

2. Use a virtual machine.

3. Downgrade your computer to allow for 32 bit support, this means installing an older operating system.
