Paste a price from Excel into MT5
I'm just looking at switching to MT4/5 and I am surprised that neither platform fully implements the standard copy and paste functionality with the Windows clipboard. I use an Excel spreadsheet to determine the stop and various target prices so I tried to copy the calculated stop price into the stop price field on the MT5's New Order window; nothing was copied. The problem appears to be that when you copy a cell from excel it appends a newline character to the various formats in the clipboard. When MT5 pastes a value into a field it treats the terminating newline as an invalid digit so reject the number. The workaround is to just copy the digits rather the cell but the platform should implement stand clipboard functionality. Is this the right place to request this should be fixed?
