MT5 for Linux

Any plan to have Meta Trader terminal available for Linux platform?

Orders, Positions and Deals in MetaTrader 5

Creating a robust trading robot cannot be done without an understanding of the mechanisms of the MetaTrader 5 trading system. The client terminal receives the information about the positions, orders, and deals from the trading server. To handle this data properly using the MQL5, it's necessary to have a good understanding of the interaction between the MQL5-program and the client terminal.

.. also an importand question for me as well!

Cheers,

Bernd

Should be available through wine as with Mt4, a bug in wine must be fixed in order to resolve the RSA key issue for installer to work.

i'm using wine 1.1.36 and the installation goes well. But can't create an demo account because the connection status is broken with demo-server.

Of course, i have no problem with my network connection and have no proxy or else.

Confirmed. I've just reinstalled fresh wine from sources (git repository) - MT5 is up and running but I get:

2002.01.18 10:09:55    Network    '48496': no connection to MetaQuotes-Demo

The following comments are owned by whoever posted them. WineHQ is not responsible for what they say. I'm sure the MetaTester used to work. I remember it came up against a Vis C++ unimplemented function when receiving data. I cannot remember though as it was so long ago and I have had a look through possible bugs where I may have...

Why can't they just make a linux compatible version :(
