Time frames

Please can someone give advice on the following - When using EA's does the automation work on whichever time frame you have open at the time or are they pre-programmed to a fixed specific one?

They do whatever they are programmed to do. Most use the current chart TF.

Unless they have a specific setting that you have to adjust to the timeframe of your choice.
