Reinsurance Group of America Inc, posted quarterly earnings below market estimates, hurt by weak results at its U.S. segment and weaker foreign currencies. Co issues guidance for FY09, sees EPS of $5.75-6.25, compared to $6.31 consensus.

Websense Inc, reported a better-than-expected quarterly profit, but forecast 2009 earnings below analysts' consensus estimate.

Headset maker Plantronics Inc, swung to a quarterly loss, and the company expects revenue to decline in the fourth quarter as worsening economic conditions weigh on all of its businesses. The company posted a third-quarter net loss of $92.0 million, or $1.90 a share, compared with net income of $19.1 million, or 39 cents a share, a year earlier.

Nike CEO sees big jump in online sales. "We've seen a dramatic increase in online sales," Mark Parker told a panel at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum.

BB&T Corp. is not paying an annual bonus to its executive-management team for the second time since 2003 even though the bank outperformed most of its rivals during a down year for the industry. The 10 executives will not receive money from BB&T's short-term incentive plan for 2008 even though the bank posted a $1.5 billion profit in 2008.

Roche Holding, took its bid for Genentech Inc. directly to shareholders, offering about $42.1 billion. Roche is now offering $86.50 a share for Genentech.

Pfizer Inc, announced late Friday the discontinuation of a Phase III study of its investigational agent axitinib for the treatment of advanced pancreatic cancer.

Panasonic Corp, will report a consolidated net loss after tax of about 350 billion yen ($3.89 billion) in fiscal 2008/09 due to restructuring charges and weak sales of consumer electronics, a Japanese daily said on Sunday.

Anadarko 4Q profit more than triples. Co said it earned $824 million, or $1.79 a share, versus $264 million, or 56 cents a share, a year ago.

Rent-A-Center Inc, the nation's largest rent-to-own operator, said it swung to a fourth-quarter profit. The company posted a profit of $36.1 million, or 54 cents per share, compared with a loss of $5.4 million, or a loss of 8 cents per share, a year ago.

Avastin, Tarceva combo delays lung cancer advance. A late-stage trial found that combining Genentech Inc's Avastin with cancer pill Tarceva, which is co-marketed with OSIP extended the time patients with advanced lung cancer.

SanDisk Corp. posted a huge fourth-quarter net loss, weighed down by nearly $2 billion in one-time charges, weak consumer spending and pricing pressures in the memory chip market.

PartnerRe Ltd, posted a 79 percent fall in operating earnings for the fourth quarter. Operating earnings, fell to $53.9 million, or 95 cents per share, compared with operating earnings of $257.4 million, or $4.55 per share, a year earlier.

Alliance Data Systems 4Q profit surges 53 percent. Company posted earnings of $51.9 million, or 79 cents per share, up 53 percent from $33.9 million, or 42 cents per share, in the same period a year ago.

Edwards Lifesciences Corp, Q4 net more than doubles. Net income rose to $38.1 million, or 66 cents a share, from $15.8 million, or 27 cents a share, a year ago.

BHP Billiton Ltd, misses forecasts. Co said its first half net profit fell 56.5% on year to $2.62 bln from $6.02 bln in the same period a year earlier.
