I have been looking for a fast, reliable, and fully customizable system in EXCEL for a long time but nothing really seems to be out there. What do you mean by share? Do you mean recommend a system? I can't do that b/c I've never trusted one enough to actually use. If you have any that you recommend, I'd love to hear about them. tia

 

What soer of system are you looking for? and why excel? The trading platforms you use are not enough?

I am a newbie on the FX market and my broker offers the widely popular Meta Trader platform. Now I have come to understand that building your own strategies is the preferred way to go - as opposed to using Expert Advisers created by someone else. However learning MQL4 (Meta Trader 4 programming language) from scratch is not exactly my cup of tea. There are add-in solutions for Meta Trader 4 that allow the trader to use excel (I feel more comfy in Excel) to build strategies.

I wonder however whether an excel based solution for building strategies is as effective?

 

Am curious to find the reason why you want to have a system in excel?

Because I am looking for a way to create strategies using means other than MQL4 (as I am an MT4 user). I signed to trade forex, not learn programming.

So, my question is whether the alternative platforms to building strategies - like some Excel solutions I have comes across - are a viable alternative to MQl4

 

with the use of meta trader 4 formulation of strategies is just so simple. you need not learn typical mql type languages. only thing that you need is the usage of excels. with it you can create charts and formulate strategies.

meta trader 4 is the best way to get the forex trading system that uses excels. with the use of excels you can easily create charts and graphs and can stratezise in an easy manner.

I would be thankful if you could upload some screenshots and explain a bit deeper

As a newbie I agree that it would be better to use excel as a trading platform. While using and understanding the programming language of Meta Trader (called MQL4) may be an easy task for advanced online forex traders, It is not as easy to use and understand for newbies.
