i know it's an old thread, but i can resist saying thanks Scorpion for this indi. I found a strategy that uses fractals but the default MT4 one definitly repaints (it uses the current price of the 5th candle instead of the close price.

I think GBPUSD is better off with 1H timeframe (see attached chart). It's due to the fact that GBPUSD has higher volatility. It fluctuates up/down more frequently than EURUSD does.

Should the fractals not be dependent on which timeframe its used on whether it be 30M or 1H? I do not know if its possible to correct this deficiency....

 

fractals show up as a little triangle on my mt4 charts instead of bars. why is that???

Can the program be used on candlestick charts as well as bars?

Bars only. It's a limitation of MetaTrader.

 

A recent D1 chart showing how good Fractals Paint is. Longing on blue is profit. Shorting on red is also profit.

I DID get it to show up on the sticks by enlarging the chart til it worked.

Will it be inaccurate>

I just figured out why it wasn't working...

I had saved a template for my charting prefs.

When I reverted to the standard chart template....BANG! There it was.... and MAN is it awesome!!!

Which do you think is better? Fractals paint or fast fractals? Also, is there a way that we can add an email alert to this indicator?
