Nice Indicator - page 2

I also use cci on a manual system but with the following.

I use adx and +/- d1

if adx is +20 and rising

and +d1 is 20 and rising and cci is +20 it's a buy.

If adx is +20 and rising

and -d1 is +20 and rising

and cci is +20 and rising =sell

I know it's sorta conserverative ,but I see many systems failing now that the USD is gaining strength but this is constant anyway market goes.

haven't tried CCI 50 yet but will give it a go soon.

the biggest problem with your system even after being modified by T-David is market orders. What I've found ou wether doing a trade manual or letting the expert take you in is if you or the expert belive the trend is short when you enter, you/or expert are selling at the bottom. The same for buying.

I've modified your expert to enter strattle orders. If the expert was correct about the trend then you are entering 10 pips away. If the expert was wrong you should now be entering in the correct direction (opposite) of where the market order would have put you.

It still needs some fine tuning, but you will get the idea. I also changed the cci settings to react sooner

Hello,

Have you tried the t3 smoothing version of cci ? Filters out a lot of bad trades. Jurik's ma must even do a better job I think, but as far as I know it is not available for mt3.

regards,

Jurgen.

Jurik`s MA is available for MT, but how to use it with the CCI?

I have used his jma smoothed cci for e-signal, which is freely downloadable from the website (after paying for the JMA), but I would not know how to program it in mt3. The links under will take you to some sample screenshots.

Just to have an idea, unfortunately there no pic of a smoothed cci, but it looks as good as the other indicators.

So I've been tweaking around with indicators while on vacation in france. Since I had no internet I couldn't check if anyone ever used this indicator or not. What I am using right now is the CCI (Commodity Channel Index) indicator. It seems to be working like a charm, revealing most big moves about 3 days in advance. I know that some people will say that this indicator will not work because you can only see if it crosses a certain point or not with the next candle, but this is predicting three candles before. I did a little manual backtest without numbers and I am very impressed. I would say it works about 95% of the time, all the losses are covered by about one or two gains which is excellent. So I was wondering maybe we can put this in the robot, it does make alot of trades but almost every trade is worth it (I'm guessing 25 pips MINIMUM for winning trades, and losing trades are close to evening out). So here is how I use it: -Chart EUR/USD H1 (havent tried other currencies yet) -CCI Period = 20 -When to buy and sell? When the line crosses from top to bottom the 0 line then sell, when crosses from bottom to top then buy (very easy) Its as easy as that, I hope we will get to program it one day and probably filter out all the little trades that are almost insignificant, Ill post back with some screen shots

Why re-invent the wheel? Woodies is King with CCI-trading and he uses CCI-14 for years and years already.

Hi hercsvw

I was wondering where his track record could be found. Do you happen to know any?
